Svensk Utryckningsfordonsförening - SUF
(Swedish Emergency Vehicle Association)
Emergency Vehicles have and will, to most of us, always attract a certain amount of interest.
May it be sheer curiosity when seeing an Emergency vehicle passing by, sirens howling and lights flashing, or may it be a more specific interest.
Furthermore, there are a large number of professional men and women using these vehicles on a daily basis and amongst them there will be an interest in what type of equipment “the others use".
Svensk Utryckningsfordonsförening (SUF) has as a goal to present various information about Emergency vehicles on land, in the air and at sea - past, present and future - from all over Sweden, and other countries, to professionals and any other person with an interest in Emergency vehicles.
SUF was founded in 1985 and has today more than 600 members. Among the members are more than 150 representatives for firebrigades, ambulance operators, rescue services, alarm centrals, recovery vehicle owners, emergency vehicle constructors and other equipment. The rest are private people who, with or without professional connections, are interested in these types of vehicles. The majority of the members are from Sweden, but we also have members from several other European countries and the USA.
Our members are interested in collecting miniature models, photographs, veteran vehicles, batches, books and all other things associated with emergencies. In the association we have activities on a local level, for instance study visits.
All the officials in the association are working on a non-profit basis and all members’ fees go towards the production and distribution of the magazine "Utryckning!" (“Call out!”), which comes out 4 times a year. You will also find the magazine on our web site.
